Veterans Thank You

Tomorrow my daughter and I will be delivering a thank you mug, cookies and cards to two local veterans. If you would like to see the mug, it's in the previous post. The cards were fun to make. I didn't think I liked the red lined designer paper on the inside of the card, but it grew on me.

I couldn't seem to find the right image for the front of the card so I decided on the above silhouette. I created an SVG and had my cricut cut out the size I wanted. I cut out the Thank you using a scrap of white vinyl. (This thank you is the reason I keep little scraps of vinyl).
I found out on of our deliveries tomorrow is for a veteran who was in the Navy, so I found an image of an anchor. I made an SVG of the anchor and cut it out on my cricut. Can I just say I love my cricut! No more rummaging through my framelets looking for the right image.

Haute Couture card

The Stampin Up stamp set Haute Couture was always a favorite of mine but I rarely use it. Yesterday I put together the following card:

I colored the dress and the brim of the hat with copic markers (R81).  I went darker on the edges and bottom of the dress to give a more dimensional look.   The card was for me friend and she really love it.

Let me know if you have questions, Delia

Sofia's First Dance Recital and Thank You Cards

Sofia's first dance recital took place this week.  She couldn't have been happier, she absolutely loved every minute of it.  All the dance teachers were so patient and loving to the little ones, it was so great to be part of such a team.  Thank you Star Struck, I look forward to seeing you all in the Fall.  Here are some photos and cards I made for the Jen and Lisa.
How cute of these little ones.  I would love to name them all but I am afraid I would mess up the spelling so I won't try.  My daughter is all the way right.
I am hoping to make this photo black and white and crop it a little for my scrapbook.  I will probably call the page "The girls in Waiting" or something along those lines.

I made this card using the Wall Decor Cricut cartridge and Sizzix Stars.  I have so much tulle so I decided to tape it onto a piece of black cardstock to have as the background. I added some bling and the card was done.    For the second card I used my stars roller and the same cricut cartridge.  I inked with Bermuda Bay and black memento.  Again I used the Sizzix Stars and bling it.  For an hour of work, I love how both cards came out.  Quick and easy.

Once again, thank you Star Struck!!!

Happy Birthday Melanie

Today I made a card for my friend Melanie's Birthday!!!  Believe it or not Melanie has every birthday card I have ever made...she doesn't let me forget it either LOL.  Every year I make a special effort to make her a card in her favorite color which is Orange.  Her favorite team is the Mets.  Therefore, all her cards are orange, blue and white.  This year I realized, I had no card ready, so I got up at 5:30am and made Melanie a card.  Here is what I came up with.

I love these Stampin Up butterflies, they are so versatile and easy to use.  I realized today I need the small butterfly punch so I don't have to cut out the butterflies.  Thanks Melanie, you made me enable myself.  I hope you have a great day.  Happy Birthday Melanie!!!

Hello with a Fairy Card

I haven't posted in a while but I have created pages and cards and other items that I have given to my friends and family.  My problem is that I just haven't been photographing what I have been making.  I know, kind of bad if you are to keep up with a blog.

I borrowed this stamp from my friend Virginia because I just loved it.  But to color it was another story...I messed up a few images so bad that they couldn't be salvaged. Anyway with my copic markers I was able to make one that I loved.  I was so happy with the coloring except for a few places that I went over the lines.  No problem, that is what fairy dust is for!  Anyway here is my card:

In case I get busy and don't post again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Basketball Cards with Cricut Cartridge

It's been a while since I posted, but I really don't like to craft in the winter. My craft room is in the back of the house which is the main entrance and it is always cold. We had two day of beautiful weather and I was able to hang out and make two cards for Logan's basketball coaches. I used Sportsmania cricut cartridge. It was so much fun, I did a little stamping using Stampin up canvas background and Paper Pretties basketball stamp, pass, shoot, score. Here are the cards:

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!!

Autism card

This is my last entry for the crop out diabetes challenges. This challenge was posted by Clare and the challenge was to scrap a health issue that I care about. There are many causes I care about especially if children are involved. The hardest part of this challenge was chosing just one health issue. I finally decided to make a card to represented autism. I don't have stamps on autism so I went out and bought puzzle pieces and used the colors of autism.
I hope you like the card.
For this card I used SU cardstock, puzzle pieces from ACMoore, Butterfly and xoxo image from Paper pretties stamps, flower, storybook cricut for the green leaves, Rhinestone, ribbon, sentiment typed in Word using Cooldots font.

Thanks for looking,

Paper Pretties Hop for a Cure

My second post today!! I know totally amazing but that is what happens when you have two days off because school is closed because of snow and I can't get to work. Here is another suprise, I also finished a layout for this hop but the lighting is poor and the picture was horrible. I will try and get a better photo tomorrow.

For this card I used Paper Pretties image Skater Zac, SU cardstock, Black Scalloped paper DCWV, DP Basic Grey Oliver, Glitter dots, copic markers and star embossing folder.

Unique Fold/Non-Traditional Fold Challenge Card

I completed this card yesterday and although I can't find my memory card for my camera, my camera allows 3 shots to it's internal memory. So I was able to get a few shots of the card. This week's Paper Pretties challenge was to make a card with a a unique or non-traditional fold. So I found this card design online. It is different and I had fun figuring out how to fold it and design it.
Here is my card:I used Paper Pretties Love Fairy Anna image along with sentiment and flourish . The circle was faux fun circles from Waltzing Mouse stamp. I used DP, SU cardstock and punch, copics, pastry doily sponged with SU Ruby Red ink, glue pen, shear ribbon and glitter.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great week.

A Card!!! PWC135

Today schools were closed and it snowed about 6 inches here, so I called into work and told them I was taking a personal day. The roads were really bad and with an hour commute, driving was not what I wanted to do today. So I saved myself some major stress and time and just stayed home.

So what do you do on a free snow day, you play in the snow, color with the kids, cook and find time to craft. Today I was able to get some time to complete this weeks Paper Prettie Challenge. This weeks challenge was a sketch challenge. You can find the sketch here and here is my card:

Isn't she adorable? For this card I used SU cardstock and DP. I used Paper Prettie's Garden Fairy Katie for the main image. For the sentiment I used two Paper Pretties stamp sets. For the oval I used elegant sentiments and for the words I used the sentiment for Love Fairy Anna which I colored one word at a time to get them separated. I really like how that came out. I also used Colorbok rhinestones, Recollections flowers and chocolate pearls. I colored Fairy Katie with Copic markers and I also used pink colored pencils. Why doesn't copic have a pretty light pink? Like SU's Pink Pirouette, I love that color.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card. I hope you all have a great weekend. Feel free to join in our the challenge, you might win yourself a free stamp.

Hugs to all!!
