Veterans Thank You

Tomorrow my daughter and I will be delivering a thank you mug, cookies and cards to two local veterans. If you would like to see the mug, it's in the previous post. The cards were fun to make. I didn't think I liked the red lined designer paper on the inside of the card, but it grew on me.

I couldn't seem to find the right image for the front of the card so I decided on the above silhouette. I created an SVG and had my cricut cut out the size I wanted. I cut out the Thank you using a scrap of white vinyl. (This thank you is the reason I keep little scraps of vinyl).
I found out on of our deliveries tomorrow is for a veteran who was in the Navy, so I found an image of an anchor. I made an SVG of the anchor and cut it out on my cricut. Can I just say I love my cricut! No more rummaging through my framelets looking for the right image.

Veteran's Day Thank You Mug

Our local Girl Scout group has set up a Veterans Thank You drive for our local Veterans. My daughter and I will be delivering thank you cards, cookies and a mug to some local veteran's on Veteran's Day. My daugther and I worked together yesterday to make their gifts.
We bought the hot/cold mug at Walmart and I created the SVG on my computer. I used my cricut to cut out the design on silver 651 vinyl and transfered it onto the mug. I think it looks great. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Sofia's First Dance Recital and Thank You Cards

Sofia's first dance recital took place this week.  She couldn't have been happier, she absolutely loved every minute of it.  All the dance teachers were so patient and loving to the little ones, it was so great to be part of such a team.  Thank you Star Struck, I look forward to seeing you all in the Fall.  Here are some photos and cards I made for the Jen and Lisa.
How cute of these little ones.  I would love to name them all but I am afraid I would mess up the spelling so I won't try.  My daughter is all the way right.
I am hoping to make this photo black and white and crop it a little for my scrapbook.  I will probably call the page "The girls in Waiting" or something along those lines.

I made this card using the Wall Decor Cricut cartridge and Sizzix Stars.  I have so much tulle so I decided to tape it onto a piece of black cardstock to have as the background. I added some bling and the card was done.    For the second card I used my stars roller and the same cricut cartridge.  I inked with Bermuda Bay and black memento.  Again I used the Sizzix Stars and bling it.  For an hour of work, I love how both cards came out.  Quick and easy.

Once again, thank you Star Struck!!!

Paper Pretties sketch challenge

I completed my PP sketch challenge and took pictures this morning before work. When I looked at this sketch I wasn't sure if I wanted to try a layout from it but since Michael is traveling on and off I didn't think I would have time. So here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Isn't she precious!! I love this fall card and can't wait to send it to someone. To make this card I used:

Paper Pretties image Fall for you Sophia, designer paper Basic Grey Max and Whiskers, Copic markers, Cardstock Stampin up Chocolate chip and punch, ribbon from local craft store, brown and white flowers which I sprayed with Gingersnap smooch.

Trust me the flower glistens, you can't see it in the photo. The only thing I would do differently is change to the brad in the flower to something with more contrast but otherwise I am happy with this card.

Feel free to participant, you could win a free stamp called Bugs and Fishes from Paper Pretties. Check out their blog for more details or check them out on facebook, you won't be dissapointed they have some fabulous card in their gallery.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great day.

Thank you Card

I had the a few days off from work and was able to get a few cards done between watching the kids, cleaning and cooking. I loved every minute of it, I miss the kids when I am at work, and so whenever I have time off, I take them out of afterschool and daycare.
I made this card for my friend JoAnn…she just moved into her new apartment and in the process gave me gave me all her Disney movie VHS tapes for the kids and some beautiful frames. JoAnn’s favorite color is blue and she loves butterflies and bunnies. I used Stampin up cardstock and patterned paper. The stamp is Sugar Nellie Peek a bunny. The thanks stamp is a Michael’s or Joann dollar stamp. Since I can’t give her a card without a butterfly, I added the butterflies to the thanks and to the flowers on the image. Thanks for looking.
