Donations for Cystic Fibrosis

My friend Heather is give away some blog candy to help her friend Chava raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. Chava's baby (6 months old) was born with CF disease and on May 17, 2008 Chava will participate in one of Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides walks in Des Moines, IA. Husky Scrapbook page

I made this layout for my co-worker Chips, she is a great friend and always so encouraging when it comes to my cards and pages. Anyway, I wanted to do something nice for her and decided to make her a LO of her beautiful Huskies, Aces and Zephyr. Aren't they beautiful!! She took these pictures in Vermont this year and they all came out great. The page is really simple and I wanted to leave it like that so I could show off Aces and Zephyr. I like how on the bottom middle photo I have each dog looking at themselves in the side photo.

I gave her the page today in a 12 x 12 frame the I bought at the local craft store. She loved it. Whew, I am so glad...making pages for other people and hoping they like them is a tad bit stressful, I am sure we have all been there LOL. Thanks for visiting.

First time at the Beach (Pt 2)

No sun today to take a nice picture, but here is the second page to the double layout that I promised. I placed the page by a bright window and set my camera to manual and raised the exposure compensation up and this seemed to work for me.

I finished the first page (part 1) in Feb as a single layout but then I wanted to scrap the remaining photos of this day. When I looked into my scrapbook last week, I realized to keep my Scrapbook organized, I needed to turn this page into a double layout. So the search began for all the correct supplies, the only problem I had was the white mesh. I used it all up and I can't find this stuff in the local craft stores. So I did without. As you can see, I really tried to get as many pictures onto the page as possible without making it look too bad.

I ran into a problem when I thought my page was completed. I glued everything down and then decided I wanted some journaling at the bottom of the page. I figured a nice half circle would look nice but ran into a problem when I realized the line were the paper met paper would driving me crazy (my friends know how I get with these things LOL). I tried ribbon, a piece of paper, chipboard but after a few tries, I decided to stitch it with red floss. It works for me, my eyes are not drawn to that spot anymore. The white mesh would have been nice but I think the page is fine without it. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all have a great day!!!

First time on the beach (Pt 1)

This is a page I made for ASB. I wanted to show it with the second page I made today but the clouds are coming in and I can't seem to get a good picture. Hopefully, I will be able to put it up tomorrow.

This is a layout I made with a couple of items from our sponsor K&A die cuts. I love this picture and wanted it to be the only one on a single page. The shaker box was a die cut that I decided to put together because I had some shells hanging around. I glued this particular patterned paper to the back to mimic sand. One of the things I love about this picture is that Logan's diapers are sticking out of his shorts. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Family Scrapbook page

Have you noticed that many great scrapbook pages have only one or two pictures with lots of great embellishment around the picture? I have done a few pages with only one picture and I really like them. Will I continue to do this, absolutely not...I have a ton of pictures that need to get into my scrapbook but I will take those few pictures that I absolutely love and maybe scrap them alone.

I made layout at a crop night. I love going to them for the social aspect, but I really miss having my supplies at my fingertips. I don't think this page has much to it, but I love it's simplicity. It was just a page that emphasised the family.

Super Naomi

This is the third card I made for the Gina K release sketch challenge. I love this stamp set and knew when I saw it, I had to have it. I haven't added any sentiment yet, I will now that my husband has claimed it for his mom. Although it's difficult to tell, I clear embossed super Naomi's suit to give it the superhero shiny look and what kind of superhero would Naomi be if she didn't have some emblem on her chest....I added the "S". Couple of Thank you cards

I received this cute frog image from my friend Heather (you can see her blog here). She is so talented and always makes the cutest cards. This card was a sketch challenge that I made for Gina K's April release party on SCS. The challenge contest is still open. All you have to do is make a card for any of the challenges, upload and your name goes into a hat for a drawing of a Gina K stamp set valued less than $18.95. Contest ends tomorrow (Tuesday at 7PM). The second card was a color challenge. We needed to use so saffron, Old olive and vanilla. I just think it's an OK card. I just feel it needs more. The stamp set is The Angel Company's (TAC) Charming gardener and the sentiment is Gina K's punchy words that I received as a gift from my friend Heather.
