Paper Pretties sketch challenge

I completed my PP sketch challenge and took pictures this morning before work. When I looked at this sketch I wasn't sure if I wanted to try a layout from it but since Michael is traveling on and off I didn't think I would have time. So here is the sketch:

Isn't she precious!! I love this fall card and can't wait to send it to someone. To make this card I used:

Paper Pretties image Fall for you Sophia, designer paper Basic Grey Max and Whiskers, Copic markers, Cardstock Stampin up Chocolate chip and punch, ribbon from local craft store, brown and white flowers which I sprayed with Gingersnap smooch.

Trust me the flower glistens, you can't see it in the photo. The only thing I would do differently is change to the brad in the flower to something with more contrast but otherwise I am happy with this card.

Lady Liberty Sophia - PWC112 Glitter

This week's Paper Pretties challenge was glitter. I automatically thought of Lady Liberty Sophia. Isn't she just adorable!!! Living in NY, I couldn't pass her up...she is too cute. Anyway the challenge this week was to use glitter. Here is my glittering card. I am in love with all the sparkle. Of course it's more glittery in person the fireworks all glitter...even the ones with the sentiment.



I used the Paper Pretties Lady Liberty Sophia and one of the three sentiments. I used SU paper Night quite navy, Dazzling diamonds with the Sakura Quickie Glue Pen (love it!! You can to get glue in all the detailed places like I did with her crown). The fireworks were one of those dollar stamps from one of my local craft stores. I knew I would use it someday....I think it's about 5 years old and just got it first ink. Good things come to those with a plan LOL.

Sugar Nellie Swap card

I signed up for a Sugar Nellie swap a while back...I thought how hard can it be it was 3 + 1. Well this one took me a few months to complete. I just couldn't get the design down, but since it is due next week I had to get it out this week. I finally got it together this morning. Here is the finished card.

Paper Pretties Weekly Challenge

The Paper Pretties challenge this week was to use non-traditional Christmas colors. I tried but found it challenging to stay away from colors so I decide to go with black and white. This is non-traditional, right? Anyway, coloring in black and white is harder than I thought....you really need to work the dark colors first and then go lighter. The photo could have been better but since I was taking the photo at 6AM this morning before the kids got up and getting ready for work you will have to forgive me...

Paper Pretties card PWC109

I made an orange and blue card for my friend Melanie's birthday. When I gave it to her, she said "you have made me an orange and blue card for my birthday, every year and this better be orange and blue" LOL... why orange and blue....Melanie is a huge Mets Fan and that is their colors. For this card I followed last week's Paper Pretties challenge: Here is the sketch

For this card I used SU blue and orange cardstock, SU on the spot background, Pink Paislee 365 Degrees, Snow White Pearls, Always in my Heart Sophia, and for the balloons and sentiment, I used the $1 stamp G clear stamps.

Pumpkin Patch kids and Un-do adhesive remover

I scanned the correct version of the Pumpkin Patch Kids page. I think the journalling on orange cardstock looked much better.

A little information on Un-du adhesive remover. Un-du safely removes all self-sticking stickers, tapes, labels and adhesives on contact without harming the your surface. It evaporate without leaving behind a stain and is safe on most all surfaces. I use it on photos and removing anything that I want to remove off my cards and scrapbook pages. This product is acid free and safe to use on all archival papers and card stock. It's flammable so be careful around heat sources and of course keep this away from children.

Once the liquid evaporates sticker, labels etc will remain sticky for reuse. It great for people like me who make mistakes. Enjoy!!

Pumkin Patch kids layout

I made this layout recently using some great paper my friend Heather sent me. But this page just gave me so many problems. Who would have thought that I could use a half a bottle of un-du on one scrapbook page. Here is the story....

I borrowed the cricut from my sister and really... there has to be a better way. I glued and unglued the letters several times and they still look crooked to me. I finally gave up and decided to go thicker wtih the word Kids.


Once I glued the word "kids" down I realized I needed some journaling. I printed up the journalling, glued it down and added a ribbon to try and even out the area. Yes, it's crooked...I finally gave up and said it would have to stay the way it was.

I showed the page to my sister and my friends who were over for a BBQ when I heard what I didn't want to hear. My friend Sylvia found an error in my journalling, I looked and just couldn't see it. Can you spot the mistake? Yep, I set this page in the future.

So I used up another quarter bottle of my un-du, (on my shopping list for next time) undid all the bottom section of the page...journaled on orange paper and added back the elements. The new page looks less crooked at the bottom and you will have to take my word for it since I still haven't scanned it yet and I love that I used orange to journal on, it looks brighter. So in the end, the mistake worked out in my favor.

So that is the story of this page. So what is the moral of the story, if you are working diagonally with thin paper letters, make sure you have a whole bottle of un-du. LOL. Thanks for dropping by.
