Just Beautiful

It's going to ge a short week this week for me this week and I have been organizing my craft room. I have to thank my friend Mena for giving me the reorganizing bug. I am actually moving shelves and trying to make my small space bigger. Yah I know, wishful thinking.

Anyway, here is a page I made of my little girl. The layout was super quick, the scored flowers where my time limiting step. I made one, then two and before you knew it, I had a bunch of these flowers in all different colors and all different sizes. I just loved them! For this page I used CTMH paper, cricut, glitter, glitter stickers (thanks Heather), scorer and punches.

Bloom Sofia

This is a page I received in a swap years ago. I wish I knew the designer so I could give her credit. What I did was cut down the page a bit and add glitter cardstock behind the page to give the page more depth and I added the cardstock to the picture. Otherwise this page was perfect for this photo. I took this picture of Sofia at Logan's baseball game. She put her hands in the dirt and then complained that her hands were dirty.

I just love the colors!! Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your week.

Back to School card

What a week! Here is the card I promised to put up a couple of days ago. For this card I used the "back to school" digi from Paper Pretties . Logan gave this card and the gift below to his new teacher. He was thrilled to have something for her, because as he stated, "4th grade is incrediably awesome". The only problem he foresees is that he will have homework to do on the weekends.

I used the Paper Pretties digi "back to school", SU cardstock, DP, ribbon, bakery thread (thanks Heather), nesti and Copic markers.

R24, R29, R39, R59, G82, G67, E33, E39, YG03, YG11, RV11, R81, C1, C3, B24, B26, B32, YR65, YR68, B60.

Meeting Sofia

Here is a layout I finished a few weeks ago. It's a simple page but the pictures are so meaningful to me. I loved when Logan first walked into the room to meet Sofia. I know I kept telling whoever had the camera, just take a bunch of pictures and keep taking them. I wanted to get his reaction to meeting his brand new sister. He didn't disappoint, he was gentle and sweet and so excited at the same time and just wanted to hold her. I was so proud of him. Love you Logan!! So here is the layout I made to recall that wonderful day.

I hope you enjoy this page as much as I do. We are expecting Hurricane Irene tomorrow so everyone in her path please be safe. Have a great weekend.

IT's a Girl

Here is the other half of the Sofia page. I made the sofia page (the one in the last post) then wanted something to match and that page. I don't know why I work backward sometimes. I also have the ultrasound pictures that I need to put final touches before I can photograph. For now here is the "it's a girl" page.

For this page I used SU cardstock and punch. I wanted to use Sofia's footprints from the hospital. But they actually gave me the paper after they did her feet and the first thing I noticed was that the paper was copied crooked...REALLY!! My baby's feet on crooked paper....I scanned her footprints and printed it on DP and I that made me happier. The stork is Paper Pretties stamp. I love this stork, so easy to color, nothing to it. I used recollections bling and cricut for the letters. I hope you like it as much as I do. This was a wonderful day and I am glad I finally have it in Sofia's Scrapbook.

Have a great day,

Sofia's Page

I finished this page a few months ago and thought I would share it with you all. I made this page of Sofia's birth and had a lot of fun doing it. What inspired me to get this page done was the journaling. I journaled what I wanted to say and then realized I would like to keep some of the journaling out of view. What I winded up doing was making a tab with more sentimental words for Sofia behind her photo.

I hope you enjoy this page. Thanks for dropping by.

In Logan's Words

This page was inspired by the Big Classes challenge. The challenge was to use NO PHOTOS...that was a shocker for me the whole point of scrapping for me is to get my photo into a scrapbook but the more I thought about the more this thought evolved in my head. I always wanted to get some of Logan's funny saying down into my scrapbook so what better way. I love how this page turned out.

For this page I used Wordle.com to create this awesome word mess. I used Paper pretties image Tire Swing Cooper, Rhinestones, DP, stickers, Cricut Lite Billionaire, SU cardstock and ink, and a gorgeous bottle cap given to me ages ago by my friend Heather.

As always thanks for stopping by, leave me a comment to let me know what you think.

Mother's Day Scrapbook page

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mommies out there.

This page was a few years in the making. I made this page for a swap years ago, then last month at a crop I decided to add photos of Sofia. Then today I wanted to finish it but particpating in a challenge. The challenge was doodling. I have never doodled because I am an awful artist (this is the reason I buy stamps LOL). Anyway the challenge was to doodle and I decided to doodle the design on Sofia dress. I had a blast...why because I traced the drawing from Sofia dress onto my cardstock. How easy was that and all the colors were already on the dress so I used those as my basis then I just went nuts with the colors. I was sooooo much fun, I highly recommend it. So here is my page:

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!!

Blog Hop to benefit Cystic Fibrosis

If you have arrived here from Jacquie's awesome blog then you are on the right track. If you started here or got lost along the way, feel free to go back and start at the Paper Pretties blogs. Today I am proud to be a blog hopper for an excellent cause. My friend Heather, owner of Paper Pretties has commissioned Joni Stringfield to design these awesome digital Easter babies. Heather is donating all the proceeds from the sale of these images (minus paypal fees) to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In case you are not familiar with Cystic fibrosis.....

Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that causes mucus to build up and clog some of the organs in the body, particularly the lungs and pancreas. When mucus clogs the lungs, it can make breathing very difficult. The thick mucus also causes bacteria (or germs) to get stuck in the airways, which causes inflammation (or swelling) and infections that lead to lung damage. Mucus also can block the digestive tract and pancreas. The mucus stops digestive enzymes from getting to the intestines. The body needs these enzymes to break down food, which provides important nutrients to help people grow and stay healthy. People with cystic fibrosis often need to replace these enzymes with medicine they take with their meals and snacks, which helps them digest food and get proper nutrition.

For this hop, I made a layout using the Easter babies Easter basket and chicks. I adore these little chicks, notice the one at the top looking sideways at the title. I just thought he was too cute and had to use him. Here is my page:

For this page I used Paper Pretties digital Easter babies, DP Imaginisce, SU cardstock and punch, Martha Stewart punch, copic markers, glitter, Cricut, Sizzix Lollipop letters, chipboard, glitter dots, flowers, ribbon and Microsoft Word.

This was a very easy page to make, probably because I just came off of a crop weekend and I was still in Crop mode. What I like about digital stamps is that I have freedom. What do I mean, when I get a digital image I save it into a folder I made on my desktop. Then when I need it I open up the image in paint.net (free program that I use) size my image or flip it to get the mirror image. Flipping the image gives me the option of adding the image to the right or left side of my scrapbook page. It really gives me a freedom I never had before. Of course I also love that I can make the image as big or small as I want to fit the space I have on my layout.

Feel free to send me a note if you have any questions. Your next and final stop on this blog train is the amazingly talent Heather's blog. As always, thanks for stopping by!! Delia

Boy Scout Bake-off

Our reign has ended....this is the third year we entered our cake in the boyscout bake off. We won 1st place and scouts choice two years in a row. But last night we didn't win and that is OK. The fun part is brainstorming with my son and trying to make what is in his little head. This year the theme was toys and he wanted a beyblade stadium and beyblades. So we made them. I didn't care too much for how the cake (stadium) came out, it budged out as I was making it but Logan was happy and that is all the counts. I really wanted to get those beyblades spinning but there has been much talk about the parents taking these cakes too far so I settled for candy beneath the beyblades to make it look like it was spinning. Here are some of the photos.

People thought the beyblades were real which was unfortunate for us. I should have put a note that he beyblades could be eaten. Many found out that they were edible after the judging. The kids loved it and once they knew the beyblades were edible, they were gone in a flash. Some with shocked expressions. It was pretty cool, except for the fact that Logan was disappointed. Our reign has ended, 2 years in a row was good enough....but watch out cake makers, Logan is looking for the title again and his mom is right here to help him out.

Autism card

This is my last entry for the crop out diabetes challenges. This challenge was posted by Clare and the challenge was to scrap a health issue that I care about. There are many causes I care about especially if children are involved. The hardest part of this challenge was chosing just one health issue. I finally decided to make a card to represented autism. I don't have stamps on autism so I went out and bought puzzle pieces and used the colors of autism.
I hope you like the card.
For this card I used SU cardstock, puzzle pieces from ACMoore, Butterfly and xoxo image from Paper pretties stamps, flower, storybook cricut for the green leaves, Rhinestone, ribbon, sentiment typed in Word using Cooldots font.

Thanks for looking,

Mom's layout

Today I have a one page layout. I completed this for two more of the Crop out diabetes challenges. This page was really easy to put together and I am really happy with it. Of course it looks so much better in real life. The first challenge was post by Amy and her challenge was to scrap about someone who inspires you and the second challenge was posted by Andrea and her challenge was to make a Monochromatic layout of someone living with diabetes. Of course I chose my mom, love you mom!!!

Here is the page:

I know the photo isn't the best, if I retake a better one tomorrow during the day, I will reload. For this layout I used Heidi Swapp invisible paper and inked it with SU tempting turquoise ink to bring out the design. I used SU cardstock, color me crazy flowers, rhinestones and ribbon from Joann's, Recollection"s bling, for the title I used cricut Storybook. Been using that one a lot lately...love it.

I plan on framing this and giving it to my mom for Mother's Day.

Thanks,
Delia

Sofia's notebook and candle

Hi all, yes I am back, like a said I made a few things in the two days I couldn't go to work or get out of the house. I guess the snow is good for something. Here are two items for the Crop out Diabetes. In case you don't know, Crop out Diabetes has a challenge going until midnight Feb 5th. It's for a great cause to learn more just click on the link above.

For this challenge I made a couple of altered items. The first was this little notebook for my 2 year old Sofia. When I finished the notebook, she looked at it and said"it Bootiful" it's was just too cute.

I used a notebook, DP from DCWV sweet stack, cricut Storybook for the letters, lace, faux fur, ribbon, paper flowers found in bridal section of Michael's, sharpie white marker and rhinestones.

The second altered item was this candle. I purposely made it gray and red to enter it into two challenges, one for Jessika and the other for Pam.

For this candle I used SU Baroque Motif, I inked the stamp with SU Going gray and stamped it on tissue paper and then transfered the image to the candle. I added red rhinestones and some ribbon.

Paper Piecing thank you card

This week I made a thank you card for Michael's aunt Catty. Aunt Catty is very sweet and she is a collector of elephants, so when I saw Artish's Ian Laurent Digi, I knew that the image was perfect for Aunt Catty's card. I made this card with this week's Paper Pretties Challenge in mind. This week's challenge was paper piecing, therefore, I paper pieced the balloon and colored the rest with copic markers and added a little glitter. It's a really simple card, here it is:

For this card I used Paper Pretties Ian Laurent digi, SU cardstock and DP, Martha Stewart daisy punch and the sentiment is from the Paper Pretties set Everyday Lily. I also used rhinestones and glitter.

Thanks for dropping by, have a great weekend.

Unique Fold/Non-Traditional Fold Challenge Card

I completed this card yesterday and although I can't find my memory card for my camera, my camera allows 3 shots to it's internal memory. So I was able to get a few shots of the card. This week's Paper Pretties challenge was to make a card with a a unique or non-traditional fold. So I found this card design online. It is different and I had fun figuring out how to fold it and design it.
Here is my card:I used Paper Pretties Love Fairy Anna image along with sentiment and flourish . The circle was faux fun circles from Waltzing Mouse stamp. I used DP, SU cardstock and punch, copics, pastry doily sponged with SU Ruby Red ink, glue pen, shear ribbon and glitter.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great week.

A Card!!! PWC135

Today schools were closed and it snowed about 6 inches here, so I called into work and told them I was taking a personal day. The roads were really bad and with an hour commute, driving was not what I wanted to do today. So I saved myself some major stress and time and just stayed home.

So what do you do on a free snow day, you play in the snow, color with the kids, cook and find time to craft. Today I was able to get some time to complete this weeks Paper Prettie Challenge. This weeks challenge was a sketch challenge. You can find the sketch here and here is my card:

Isn't she adorable? For this card I used SU cardstock and DP. I used Paper Prettie's Garden Fairy Katie for the main image. For the sentiment I used two Paper Pretties stamp sets. For the oval I used elegant sentiments and for the words I used the sentiment for Love Fairy Anna which I colored one word at a time to get them separated. I really like how that came out. I also used Colorbok rhinestones, Recollections flowers and chocolate pearls. I colored Fairy Katie with Copic markers and I also used pink colored pencils. Why doesn't copic have a pretty light pink? Like SU's Pink Pirouette, I love that color.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card. I hope you all have a great weekend. Feel free to join in our the challenge, you might win yourself a free stamp.

Hugs to all!!
